General Colin Powell Reporting for Duty!

Of course, it would never happen, but it would be amusing to consider for a number of reasons:

  1. While not equal to President, America’s first African-American Vice-President is still a first.
  2. If you’re pro-military, I imagine you’d be happy to have two former army men in office.  If you’re anti-military, you’d still have to consider Powell since he was against attacking Iraq.
  3. Who would take Obama seriously if he tried to claim “They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”
  4. As former Secretary of State (the first African-American to be appointed to that position), National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, I think that General Powell has enough ”experience wrestling with national policy or go-to-war decisions” for even Wesley Clark.
