General Colin Powell Reporting for Duty!
Of course, it would never happen, but it would be amusing to consider for a number of reasons:
- While not equal to President, America’s first African-American Vice-President is still a first.
- If you’re pro-military, I imagine you’d be happy to have two former army men in office. If you’re anti-military, you’d still have to consider Powell since he was against attacking Iraq.
- Who would take Obama seriously if he tried to claim “They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”
- As former Secretary of State (the first African-American to be appointed to that position), National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, I think that General Powell has enough ”experience wrestling with national policy or go-to-war decisions” for even Wesley Clark.
